This past week I played Axis & Allies (the PC version) twice. I couldn’t help it on Thursday night…I had insomnia or something. I started the game at 1:30 in the morning! Anyway, both times I played the role of Japan against the maximum-ability artificial intelligence for the other powers. Both times I won the game. Isn’t it strange? Japan is a difficult power to play, because they are almost entirely dependent upon troop transports to move their units around. Another interesting note about the “artificial intelligence” of the game…in both victories, Germany chose to fortify Europe, generating excesses of infantry and armor units, rather than to construct troop transports and conquer England. They left it to me to complete the victory.
